WINSTON JM 14-1786

BELLARY BL 11-78

My latest addition to the Bellary South Devon gene pool. A smooth coated, well muscled bull with excellent BLUP and performance figures all round! I have high expectations of this bull.

Bellary 11-78 is a bull that I have bred myself and retained in the Stud because of his exceptional BLUP figures on wean direct and fertility. BL11-78 received the BLUP bull of the Year Award from the South Devon Society. He is the type of bull that maintains body condition even under late winter conditions, a very desirable trait. Progeny have been very promising so far with an average birth weight of 33kg.

JM 06-20 is an extremely long, well muscled bull from the well known Winston Herd of John Miller, Cathcart. JM 06-20 is positive on Wean direct and Year weight and produces excellent weaner calves. His first group of young bulls was of exceptional quality. The average birth weight of his progeny is 37 kg over 66 births recorded. We have high expectations of this bull’s progeny in years to come.

Arthur is a dark red, smooth coated bull from the well known Andiro Herd of Ian Turnbull, Barkly East. Arthur’s progeny have done well in the Bellary Herd. JM13-1648 is a polled bull bred from the well known Torr Down Hermes polled bloodline. He is a bull that exhibits exceptional muscling, depth and length of body. Along with his eye appealing looks, he also has exceptional BLUP figures on both wean maternal and direct, post wean growth and fertility. First calves expected September 2016. Watch this space!

ANDIRO DAVID IRT 08-59

Winston Blue Blood is a beautiful, deep, well muscled, dark red, polled bull. Blue Blood has exceptional BLUP and production figures to add to his great looks that make him an even more attractive prospect. He is very strong on milk, growth and fertility in terms of his dam line. I kept 3 young bulls from his first group of progeny and have high expectations of them.

BELLARY BL 07-107

BELLARY BL 05-59

BL 07-107 is a bull that we have bred ourselves and retained in the Stud because of his unique bloodline. His dam, NDB 98-12, originates from the famous Sonderrus Herd bloodline which is not readily available anymore. The Sonderrus Herd was renowned for quality female animals and high milk production. The average birth weight of his progeny is 35 kg over 33 births recorded. We hope to breed excellent female animals from this bull.

BL 05-59 is a commercial (Appendix B) bull that we used extensively in our commercial cow herd. We use quality South Devon bulls on our commercial herd because 10-15 commercial heifers are annually included in the Stud Herd as Appendix A animals, after inspection by a Breed Inspector. The sire of BL 05-59 was IRT 99-16 (dam was a Farmer’s Weekly Elite Cow) and his dam was NDB 95-40 (ICP 356/11 calves) – all round TOP fertility!
